Neighbourhood Plan Survey Launches

Ruddington Neighbourhood Plan aims to discover what’s important to YOU about future housebuilding in and around our village. TODAY sees the start of the delivery of leaflets about the Plan to every home and business in Ruddington – and the launch on an online questionnaire – showing that WE really can make a difference.

But what is a Neighbourhood Plan?

Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. Through its own Neighbourhood Plan, approved by Ruddington Parish Council in October last year, Ruddington can influence how the village is enhanced and protected through the built development that will take place in the years to come.

When you receive your leaflet it will contain details of how to complete an online questionnaire. By completing this questionnaire you can influence the future of Ruddington. Alternatively, you can complete it by clicking on THIS link: www.ruddingtonnp.org.uk/survey.

Issues covered by the questionnaire include Housing and Development, Transport and Highways, the Environment and Leisure and Recreation but there are many more. All that you will be asked to do is to indicate the level of priority that you would attach to each issue. There’s a box for any additional comments that you have. Please ensure that you complete the questionnaire before Saturday 30th June 2018. But this is not a ‘one response per household’ questionnaire, it’s ‘one per person’ and we’d like to encourage every member of the family to complete one, from the youngest to the most senior. And, if anyone works in the village but doesn’t live here, they’re entitled to speak up too.

Paper copies of the questionnaire will be available as well and should be returned to the Ruddington Parish Council office by the same date, Saturday 30th June.

The Neighbourhood Plan Project Team has appointed Urban Imprint, a company which specialises in this field, as consultants to advise them. Two consultation events are being held in St Peter’s Rooms. Urban Imprint will be there and will be doing presentations. Members of the Project Team will also be there so these events are your opportunity to learn more about the Plan Process and to discuss with, and ask questions of, the people who compiled the questionnaire.

These Consultation Events are taking place on:-

  • Tuesday 5th June 2018 from 3.00pm until 8.00pm
  • Saturday 9th June 2018 from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

More information about our village’s Neighbourhood Plan can be found online at www.ruddingtonnp.org.uk or you can follow them on Facebook at ‘Ruddington Neighbourhood Plan’ and Twitter @RuddingtonNP.

Please do go along to one of their events and tell them what you think. Most importantly of all, take the time to fill in a questionnaire and have your say!
